Honda Kiko Latex Pumps
PPS is an authorized Honda Kiko distributor. Horizontal pumps built for latex and other high viscosity, shear sensitive liquids that clog and leak conventional pumps. Supplied and serviced from Houston for rubber, polymer and chemical plants.
No clogging, no coagulum leaks
- Polymerization rate about one-thirtieth of a conventional pump
- Resists clogging and seal leakage from coagulum buildup
- Fewer overhauls and lower maintenance cost
- Synthetic latex and less stable natural latex, to about 1,400 mPa s

Seals made for latex
The shaft seal is where latex pumps usually fail. Honda Kiko uses a knife-edge mechanical seal that cuts through film buildup, backed by either gland packing or a multi-spring mechanical seal.

Inside the pump

Applications
- Synthetic and natural latex transfer
- Emulsions
- Crumb slurry
- High viscosity chemicals
- Viscous and adhesive liquids
Latex pump questions
Why do ordinary pumps clog on latex?
Shear and dead zones inside a conventional pump cause latex to polymerize into coagulum, which builds up on the impeller and seal faces until the pump clogs or leaks. The Honda Kiko design keeps the polymerization rate at about one-thirtieth of a conventional pump.
Can it handle natural latex?
Yes. It handles chemically stable synthetic latex and less stable natural latex at viscosities up to about 1,400 mPa s.
Which seal options are available?
A knife-edge mechanical seal backed by either gland packing or a multi-spring mechanical seal.
